Grip Lesson

David Leadbetter, one of the best teachers of all time, with a short video showing an essential fundamental of the golf grip.

This fundamental is to do with how tightly the club is gripped and David cautions us against the all-to-common mistake of gripping too tightly. This, we are told, leads to tension in the forearms which leads to tension in the shoulders which can inhibit the swinging motion and ultimately stop us from completing our backswing. Mr. Leadbetter also flags another common error surrounding gripping the club in the palm of the hands as opposed to more correctly placing the grip in the fingers and he states that a glove that is worn near the palm of the hand is a tell-tale sign of such a fault.
